Senior Full Time
What you will do
- Own the performance, availability, and scalability of our production database systems (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Design, implement, and maintain backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies
- Lead database deployments, migrations, and schema changes with minimal downtime
- Provide after-hours and on-call support for critical deployments, sharing coverage with the rest of the team
- Monitor database health and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks
- Partner with Engineering to design scalable data architectures for new features
- Establish and enforce best practices for security, access control, and data governance
- Document database processes and mentor other engineers on database best practices
What you will bring
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar senior data infrastructure role
- Strong hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB in production environments
- Solid experience with backup and disaster recovery strategies, replication, and high-availability setups
- Experience supporting production deployments, including after-hours or on-call rotations
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, distributed team spanning multiple timezones
- Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills under pressure
- Fluent in both English and Spanish, written and spoken
- Based in Mexico, Europe, or a similar timezone that complements a Bogota-based team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering
