Nationwide IT Services, NIS, seeks a Software Systems Engineer to develop and maintain complex operating software applications using manufacturer releases and utilities. This fully remote role designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, supports operating system maintenance, and evaluates software products across all task areas. The position supports all task areas and is contingent upon contract award and funding.
Key Responsibilities
• Formulate and define specifications for complex operating software programming applications.
• Modify and maintain complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities supplied by the manufacturer.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document software programs.
• Provide operating system maintenance, including sophisticated file maintenance routines and support for large telecommunications networks, computer accounting, and advanced mathematical and scientific software packages.
• Support all phases of software systems programming applications.
• Evaluate new and existing software products.
Required Qualifications
• At least five years of relevant experience.
• Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
• DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification, Category IAT Level I.
