We’ve just reached unicorn status with a $150M Series D, accelerating our vision to transform education through human-led, AI-enhanced learning. Today, 100,000+ tutors teach 90+ languages to learners in 180 countries - and we’re only getting started. As a category-defining company, we’re shaping what the future of learning looks like at global scale.

Every Preply lesson sparks change, fuels ambition, and drives progress that matters. Joining Preply means helping define the future of education at global scale, and building something that truly matters for millions of people, every day.

Meet the team

Preply is a product-led company, and one of the largest advertisers in EdTech. Our marketing runs across more than a dozen channels, a nine-figure annual budget, hundreds of millions of SEM keywords, millions of SEO pages and 30+ languages.

Our in-house SEM automation already drives performance no team could reach by hand. We want to bring that engine to every channel. We're also among a select group of advertisers piloting a new ad offering with a leading AI platform, and we work with a dedicated team at Google to push what's possible in search.

At that scale, the biggest growth levers are a combination of optimisation and technology. As Director of Product, MarTech, you'll lead that charge. This is a new leadership seat. You'll lead a growing, multi-squad organisation and co-own the growth outcomes with our performance marketing leaders. You'll report to the VP of Product, Growth.

This role isn't about maintaining an existing system, it’s about re-defining what Martech looks like in the industry.

What you'll be doing

Lead and grow a multi-squad MarTech organisation

  • Set a bold vision for how technology can scale marketing far beyond what's possible today, and rally your teams and partners behind it.

  • Lead the PMs across our MarTech squads, setting direction and priorities across the whole organisation, not just within one team.

  • Build out the next squads as we split into channel-based teams, including hiring the PMs who will lead them.

  • Coach and grow your PMs, raising the bar on product craft, systems thinking, technical depth and business judgment.

Scale every channel through automation

  • Automate every channel to the point where marketing scales 10x without scaling headcount.

  • Own the balance of paid and organic acquisition, and keep pushing bidding and CPA to new levels of efficiency.

Own the outcomes, together with Marketing

  • Own MarTech's impact on growth: new subscribers, the revenue they bring, and the efficiency we acquire them at

  • Partner deeply with performance marketing leaders as co-owners of the same growth outcome, building trust through transparency and shared KPIs.

Make Preply Martech AI-native

  • Define how Preply shows up in AI search and AI ad platforms, channels that are being born right now.

  • Make AI a core building block in everything your teams ship, and be the standard-bearer for AI across Marketing.

  • Build the platforms and guardrails that let every marketer at Preply use AI safely and well in their daily work.

Go deep and move fast

  • Understand the platforms the way an engineer and a marketeer does: read the data pipelines, challenge the architecture with your teams, and open Google Ads, Meta and GSC to see performance for yourself.

  • Use data to measure how platform changes move efficiency, scale and growth.

  • Pair strong conviction with fast, lean hypothesis testing, and build a culture where squads ship and iterate quickly.

What you need to succeed

  • Hands-on experience building marketing automation in-house at scale, with personal involvement in the design of internal systems that connect to advertising channels via APIs and backend.

  • Sound judgment on when to build and when to buy, proven at scale and defensible even when third-party tools are part of the stack.

  • Real depth in at least one channel (SEM, SEO, paid and new channels, or tracking), broadened from that entry point into others, with a view of how the channels interlock into one growth strategy rather than running as separate silos.

  • A track record of operating automation across many markets, languages and intents at once, designing systems that stay locally relevant.

  • Current or recent leadership of a group of marketing automation, martech or adtech products, ideally within a marketplace at scale (travel, e-commerce) or a martech SaaS company.

  • Proven people leadership managing managers, PMs or tech leads: setting direction and priorities across multiple squads, and guiding a team through a growth phase or a split into channel-based teams.

  • A product leader's mindset rather than a channel operator's. The instinct is to ask how to scale something 10x through automation and to build tools that marketers use.

  • Genuine partnership with Marketing leadership: the ability to share ownership of one growth outcome with leaders you don't manage, handle disagreement constructively, and earn trust as a strategic partner as well as a technical one.

  • A point of view on where AI search and AI ad platforms are heading, a history of entering new channels before a playbook existed, and daily use of AI in both personal workflows and the systems you build.

  • Commercial sharpness and a data-driven approach, with accountability for growth and efficiency outcomes (new subscribers, revenue, CPA), a habit of digging into root causes, and ruthless prioritisation.

  • Clear, structured communication that aligns engineers, marketers and executives around a single vision, even under challenge.

  • Dive deep - We leverage business acumen and curiosity to investigate disparities between numbers and stories, unlocking meaningful insights to guide our decisions.

  • Growth mindset - We proactively seek growth opportunities and believe today's best performance becomes tomorrow's starting point. We humbly embrace feedback and learn from setbacks.

  • Raise the bar - We raise our performance standards continuously, alongside each new hire and promotion. We build diverse and high-performing teams that can make a real difference.

  • Challenge, disagree and commit - We value open and candid communication, even when we don’t fully agree. We speak our minds, challenge when necessary, and fully commit to decisions once made.

  • One Preply - We prioritize collaboration, inclusion, and the success of our team over personal ambitions. Together, we support and celebrate each other's progress.
