About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join a Retail/CPG project focused on pricing and demand analytics. Your work will have a direct impact on sales and profitability. You will take problems from data exploration to production-ready AI/ML solutions, working closely with engineering and product teams, and translating complex findings into clear recommendations for key stakeholders.
Responsibilities

- Design, build and evaluate predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
- Develop advanced pricing models that incorporate price elasticity, cross-effects and cannibalization.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of pricing and promotional strategies, such as discounts, bundling and loyalty programs, to drive sales and profitability.
- Develop AI/ML product prototypes that address customer problems and business needs, taking concepts through to actionable solutions.
- Test, validate and refine models to ensure they are ready for production.
- Present complex insights through intuitive data visualizations and make data-driven recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure the seamless productionization, scalability and reliability of AI models.
Requirements
Must-Have
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Retail or CPG industry, with specific experience in pricing models and demand forecasting.
- Hands-on experience modeling price elasticities, cross-effects and cannibalization.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including Pandas and Object-Oriented Programming.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience processing transaction data.
- Solid experience in time series analysis.
- Strong prototyping skills, with hands-on experience in QA, testing and refining models for production.
- Understanding of large-scale software system architecture and experience working in cloud environments.
- Ability to interpret complex datasets, design meaningful visualizations and communicate insights through data storytelling.
- Strong ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with ML libraries and environments such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, NumPy and Jupyter Notebooks.
- Hands-on experience with Spark / PySpark for processing large datasets; Databricks experience is a plus.
- Experience building simple user interfaces or dashboard apps using Streamlit, Plotly or Flask.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, testing, deployment and release methodologies (DevOps / MLOps).
